The head of state made a trip to meet with defense personnel in the Donetsk region on Tuesday. The president confirmed that he met with fighters at the command post of the 1st Corps of the Ukrainian National Guard Azov, which is conducting a defensive operation in the Dobropillya area, an urban center approximately a short distance from the focal point.

Volatile Situation in Pokrovsk

Recent mapping from a local initiative indicated that Russian forces had advanced deeper into the city and surrounding areas, though much of it was not fully held by either side. The situation remains critical, with updates indicating that opposition troops were establishing defenses and strengthening posts in certain areas.

Opposition armies are pushing forward in the Pokrovsk sector and appear to be operating with growing ease within urban Pokrovsk.

Military experts commented that national troops had liberated a significant portion of a Russian penetration in the Dobropillya front, on the east side of the Pokrovsk campaign.

National Aerial Attacks Deep Inside the Federation

Kyiv's aerial vehicles targeted a production facility approximately a considerable distance inside Russian territory at the city. City administration announced a detonation at the Sterlitamak Petrochemical Plant that caused its water treatment facility to partially collapse, adding that the origin of the detonation was undetermined. The armed forces leadership stated there was significant destruction to the facility.

National forces confirmed attacking a fuel processing plant at the city in Russia's Nizhny Novgorod region to the east of the capital. The degree of impact was being assessed. The local official verified an assault by 20 drones near Kstovo.

Russian Security Policy Changes

National guard personnel will now have to protect fuel facilities against aerial attacks after the president enacted a decree on the start of the week increasing their involvement in the war effort. The head of state also enacted a decree permitting draft enrollment all year round whereas previously it was possible only during restricted intervals in autumn and spring. Moscow legally bars conscripts from being deployed to combat, but after their defense commitment they join the reserve forces, exposing them to potential of being sent to war.

Heavy military spending have also started to strain the Russian state budget, with the government increasing levies to cover increasing gaps.

Zelenskyy's Appeals for Allied Help

The national leader urged the US to remain open to supplying Kyiv with long-range weapons. Addressing a European Union summit from the conflict zone, the Ukrainian president also called for more international restrictions on Russia – including on the energy and atomic industries – and said he wanted Ukraine to join the EU before 2030.

Foreign Support and Political Developments

The European nation plans to boost armed assistance to the eastern European country by a substantial amount next year to about €11.5bn, the finance ministry in the capital said on Tuesday. This comprises, among other things, cannons, aerial vehicles, protected carriers and the substitution of air defense units.

Scandinavian arms producer the company has reached a preliminary agreement with a local manufacturing firm to make, design and market arms in the country.

Italy summoned Russia's deputy ambassador on the start of the week to object to what it said were vulgar, disturbing and improper comments by Russian diplomatic representative who associated the tragic event of a building in the capital to the country's armed aid for the eastern European nation. The Italian foreign minister stated that the country would not change its international position or its values in reaction to irresponsible comments. The Moscow's representation later expressed sympathy for the death of a foreign national in the incident but used the chance to protest that the angry response to the comments was anti-Russian.
